How an HUF gets accredited
An HUF is measured like an individual and applies like an entity — on its own PAN, with the Karta named.

An HUF is measured like an individual, and applies like an entity
A Hindu Undivided Family qualifies on the same income and net worth thresholds as an individual, read against the HUF’s own figures. But it applies in its own right, on its own PAN, with the Karta named as the person who acts for it — so the paperwork looks closer to a company’s than to a person’s.

The HUF’s income and net worth, not the family’s
What counts is what the HUF owns and earns: its property, its holdings, its income as returned on its own ITR. The Karta’s personal salary, personal portfolio and personal net worth belong to the Karta’s own application, not this one. Mixing the two is the fastest way to a certificate that does not match the evidence behind it.
The exclusion of the home you live in applies here too: a residence the family occupies does not count towards the HUF’s net worth, however it is held.
The Karta
Named on the application, and on the documents
The Karta is named as the person acting for the HUF, and several of the documents carry the Karta’s own PAN even though the application belongs to the HUF. The date the agency records as the HUF’s “date of birth” is the date the HUF was formed, not the Karta’s birthday.

The Karta’s passport, driving licence, voter ID or masked Aadhaar (the first 8 digits hidden).
Income tax return — last financial year (of the HUF)
The ITR-V acknowledgement or the full return. If it is not filed yet, file it first: the agency needs it.
CA net-worth certificate — last financial year (of the HUF)
On the CA’s letterhead with a UDIN, dated within the last six months, for the HUF, showing how much of its net worth is in financial assets.
Income tax return — the year before (of the HUF)3-year certificate only
The ITR-V acknowledgement or the full return for the year before last.

On the CA’s letterhead with a UDIN, for the year before last. The CA can use the same format.
Signed undertaking
The agency’s declaration that what is given is true. Download the format, have it signed by the Karta for the HUF, and upload it as a PDF.
No HUF deed is required for accreditation. What is required is that the HUF’s own PAN, name and figures line up across every document.

Four things HUFs get caught by
The application is the HUF’s, not the Karta’s
The certificate is issued to the HUF, on the HUF’s PAN. If the Karta also wants to invest personally, that is a second application on the Karta’s own PAN and figures.
The name must be the HUF’s name as printed on its PAN
Not the Karta’s name, and not a shortened family name. HUF PANs usually read as a full personal name followed by HUF, and the application has to repeat it letter for letter.
Bank and demat records may show the Karta
Older depository formats put the Karta in the sole-holder field, so an HUF’s account can look like an individual’s. The PAN settles it: the fourth character is H.
Identity is checked on documents, not Aadhaar
An HUF has no Aadhaar, so the instant Aadhaar-based check that individuals can use does not exist here. Expect a document review, and give the name and PAN extra attention because that is where it is checked.
